RF device for MR guided focused ultrasound therapy
MRI-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) therapy, including surgery and neuromodulation, represents a non-invasive approach to treating tumors and tremors. This method utilizes high-intensity focused ultrasound energy for precise tissue ablation or brain stimulation under real-time MRI guidance with thermal mapping or acoustic radiation force imaging (ARFI). The pivotal role of RF coils becomes evident in MRgFUS surgery and neuromodulation studies.
These coils automatically determine the focused ultrasound focal spot’s position, accurately facilitating brain functional stimulations and enhancing the overall treatment flow while improving positioning accuracy in MRgFUS procedures.
